Terms

Terms of use.

Plain-English terms written by us, not a solicitor. They describe the deal we think we have with you. If anything's unclear, ask.

These terms govern your use of firnox.com, operated by Firnox Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13598161). By creating an account or buying a course, you agree to them.

What you're paying for

A subscription or pay-as-you-go purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access the relevant content while your subscription is active or, for pay-as-you-go, for as long as we keep that course available on the site (which we expect to be indefinite, but it's not guaranteed). You're not buying ownership of the courses themselves, the videos, or the written tutorials. Source code that ships with a course is governed by the licence file inside that code repository, not by these terms (see "Intellectual property" below).

Free content is free to watch, with no account or payment required. The intellectual-property terms below still apply.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your account, don't pool a single subscription across multiple people, and let us know promptly if you suspect someone else has used it.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break the site, scrape it at scale, redistribute paid content, or use it to harass anyone. We can suspend accounts that do.

Intellectual property

Course material splits into two parts that are licensed differently: the source code, and everything else.

Source code. Every code repository we ship with a course includes its own LICENSE file, and that file is the source of truth for what you can do with that code. Free YouTube-backed projects are typically released into the public domain under the Unlicense; paid courses ship with whatever licence the repo specifies. You can use the source files in your own projects, personal or commercial, on those terms.

Tutorials, videos, and other course material. The written tutorials (the prose, explanations, and walkthroughs around the code), the course videos, screenshots, audio, and accompanying assets are owned by Firnox Ltd or licensed to it, and aren't covered by the source-code licence above. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute them, in whole or in substantial part. Quoting briefly for review, commentary, or teaching is fine; mirroring a course, rebroadcasting a video, or republishing a written tutorial is not.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Pricing and currency are shown at checkout. Our refund policy is on the refunds page; in summary, pay-as-you-go purchases are refundable within 7 days if you've watched less than 25% of the course, and subscriptions can be cancelled any time and run to the end of the paid period.

Availability

We aim for the site to be up at all times but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance, third-party outages (Stripe, Bunny, hosting), or unforeseen issues can all cause downtime. If an outage seriously affects you, email us and we'll deal with it case by case.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability we can't lawfully exclude (notably for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). The site is provided "as is" for educational purposes; we make no warranty beyond what UK consumer law requires, and you're responsible for your own use of any code or technique you learn here.

Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. Closure cancels any active subscription (subject to the refunds policy).

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be flagged on this page (and emailed if it affects active accounts). Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, without affecting any non-waivable consumer-law rights you may have in your country of residence.
